B+F’s extensive range of products also includes a vast range of composite shaft and manhole covers of various sizes and designs. B+F has dynamically developed a shaft and manhole cover system that distinguishes itself through its great and diverse range of individual models and extensive accessory equipment.

B+F’s shaft and manhole cover system meets all of the requirements of the DIN EN 124 load-bearing classes B, D, E and F.

Class B 125Belastungsklasse

  • Corresponds to the former Bridge Load Bearing Capacity Class 12, tested to 125 KN.
  • For pedestrian areas and surfaces used in a similar way, as well as multi-storey car parks.

Class DBelastungsklasse 400

  • Corresponds to the former Bridge Load Bearing Capacity Class 60, tested to 400 KN.
  • For roads, car parks and similarly reinforced vehicular areas.

Class E 600Belastungsklasse

  • Tested to 600 KN.
  • For vehicular areas used by vehicles having extremely high wheel loads.

Class FBelastungsklasse 900

  • Tested to 900 KN.
  • For airport run- and taxi-ways

B+F’s stringent, ISO 9001-compliant, QM and QA production controls guarantee that its shaft and manhole covers are precision-manufactured to the highest standard. They are furthermore extremely durable thanks to the composite design (steel and concrete), precision fitting of the covers to their associated bases, as well as of all other components to one another (shaft, shaft neck and cover), and the processes of galvanisation. This not only increases frost- and road-salt resistance, but also protects them from corrosion, and is more environmentally friendly than, e.g. using a tar-pitch epoxy-resin coating.

The concrete surfaces of these covers – including SA 2000 with and without buckling resistant frames, and the self-levelling KSAD 2020 cover, or any other model – can be finished to a vast range of design specifications and present a durable and safe anti-slip surface.
