B+F Dorsten reinforced concrete collecting trays for rail vehicles are suitable for use on all kinds of industrial and public sites at which environmentally hazardous substances are manufactured, filled or reloaded. These kinds of sites are required by law to be equipped with safe collecting and storage facilities.
In accordance with Article 19 of the “Wasserhaushaltsgesetz” (Water Resources Act), and VAwS, “Verordnung über Anlagen zum Umgang mit wassergefährdenden Stoffen” (Ordinance on installations for handling water-polluting substances and on specialist companies), aggressive substances may only be handled subject to special safety precautions. This applies in particular to substances hazardous to water (Water Hazard Class 1 – 3), hazardous substances in accordance with the Hazardous Substance Act, flammable substances and hazardous waste.
B+F’s collecting trays are manufactured from high-quality reinforced steel and in compliance with DIN 1045. They are impermeable to water, are highly resistant to aggressive chemicals and comply with all relevant and related legal requirements. B+F collecting trays have proven themselves in filling stations, loading, unloading and reloading stations, washing systems and storage areas - and are thus making a valuable contribution to protecting the environment.
B+F’s collecting trays for rail vehicles – the rail collecting tray – comprises a prefabricated concrete tray inside which the rails are mounted on top of concrete blocks. This ensures that aggressive substances and contaminated water are safely collected before being draining away via a gradient to an outlet. B+F’s standard tray has a high capacity that, if required, can be further expanded by connecting a collecting shaft, collecting tank or catch basin. The collected liquids are drained via an open-top drainage channel to an outlet integrated into the side of the tray, which can be manufactured to customer specifications from either glass-fibre reinforced polyester resin (UP-GF), PE-HD or stainless steel.
B+F’s prefabricated reinforced concrete components are particularly suited for use in filling stations for rail vehicles, filling systems for rail-mounted tank wagons, train washing systems and decontamination facilities.
The rails in B+F collecting trays are fastened in accordance with Deutsche Bahn AG regulations and the entire collecting system can furthermore be covered with steel grates or concrete slabs to create a level surface than can be safely walked and driven on.
B+F collecting trays and systems for rail vehicles are approved by the German Institute for Building Technology (Licence No.: Z-74.3-36).
