Overground weighbridge with foundation

The bridge, for sizes over 10.00 m two bridges, consists of two longitudinal beams with integrated floor plates.

  • These bridge elements are constructed “overhead”. To provide a non-slip surface with a grip for the lorry, the flooring has a diamond-structure surface.
  • The bridge is cemented in one operation, which means no construction joint which can result in the development of cracks.
  • All visible surfaces have exposed concrete or structural concrete quality.
  • The scale system consists of four or eight load cells, depending on bridge length. If the bridge exceeds 10.00 m it is divided into parts.
  • The end pieces consist of two foundation plates with integrated bumpers as well as bearings in longitudinal and cross directions to accommodate the bumpers.
  • The middle piece, necessary for scales longer than 10.00 m, consist of a foundation plate with two integrated consoles to accommodate the cross-direction bumper.
  • The foundation blocks are linked by four beams to prevent the foundations from slipping.
  • All parts are constructed “overhead” in order to provide an optimal visual look of exposed concrete.
  • On all end sides the edge protection profiles are provided with bumper bags.

Assembly can be performed within a few hours using one crane, on a loose gravel ground on site according to site excavation plan.

Advantages of this System:

  • No concrete foundations needed on site; the ground must simply be
    frost-proof and firm
  • Very little excavation needed
  • Compulsory guide for lorries
  • Very low elevation above ground level (30 cm)
  • Easy access to load cells
  • High flexibility: the scales can be relocated in its entirety, including foundations
  • Inner cable ducts
  • High resistance to wear
  • Enables getting in and out easily
  • Poles on the end sides of the foundations

Advice:

If required, the bridges may be mounted on a concrete foundation or a concrete carriage-way. Formwork and structural plans will be provided. Prefabricated ramps can similarly be supplied.
We can also deliver overground scales larger than 20.00 m.
